FUS 3.4 Adjusting and optimizing depth of penetration

Depth of Penetration:

  • We always recommend scanning down to bone when analyzing the face, at least initially. This allows you to gain full appreciation of the anatomy in the region being examined.
  • However, she never use more penetration than is required. The reason for this is that as depth of penetration increases the frequency of your scanner will decrease. This will cause you to lose resolution and anatomical detail.
  • Once you have gained an appreciation of the full depth anatomy, you may decrease the depth been scanned in order to gain higher resolution images of the surface anatomy.
  • You adjust depth by swiping up and down on the screen. Swiping down decreases depth, will swiping up increases depth of penetration.
